Jonathan turns 2!!!

In honor of Jonathan's 2nd birthday, here are a couple pictures of the stud and the video from his 1st week of life. He has been such a blessing and gift from God. We can't imagine our lives without him.

Dean Update

So apparently being a mom of two kids under the age of 1 1/2 and having a husband as a resident makes you a little busy. I am sorry for such a delayed blog update!

Susie is growing so fast, smiling all the time and loved to talk! Its amazing how much she looks like me as a baby. I was concerned that I wasn't going to love this new baby as much as Jonathan and that couldn't be more incorrect. Someone once told me after your 2nd child your heart just grows to hold more love..sooo true!

We could not have asked for Jonathan to handle being a brother so well. He loves to kiss on her, laugh at her (all in good fun we hope), and hug on her! Its truly wonderful to see! He is officially in his toddler stage. He enjoys throwing things in the toilet, hiding my phone, remote, keys etc, and pretty much attempting to sweetly take apart anything he can get his hands on.

Enjoy the pictures below taken at my family's bay house!

Susie Grace turns 2 weeks old!

We think Susie Grace is getting more and more beautiful each day.
No joke, the first book Jonathan pulled out of the bookshelf after being home. It was cute initially but his criticism of the way we are taking care of his sister is getting old. He reads a book and now he thinks he is an expert.
Joking aside, Jonathan has turned out to be a great big brother.
Yesterday, Jonathan gave Susie Grace kisses on her hand
Susie Grace's first bath. Either it is just the lighting from the camera or his daughter is already giving Dad gray hairs.
Susie Grace waving to her fans or taking an oath after her bath.
Only big brothers get to play with pudding on the deck
With 2 children Dad gets to dress Jonathan more often. The result: The Central Virginia look which includes hat to cover the mullet, beater, camo shorts and Nike Air Force 1 baby shoes.

Susie Grace Come Home

First trip in the car seat coming home from the hospital.
Mommy and daddy forgot the socks, such is the life of the middle child.
Susie (above) looks just like her brother Jonathan (below) on her coming home day.

Jonathan welcoming Susie home.
Gibbs welcoming Susie the only way that she knows how. Jonathan is making sure the carseat buckle is in good working condition.
The sleeping beauty
If you look quickly at the next two pictures, it looks like we are dancing.

In an effort to divert attention back to himself, Jonathan takes to banging his drum. Thankfully Susie slept through it all. I am sure when she is older she will more fully appreciate her brother's talents.

Jonathan's Walking Adventures

Jonathan watching mom coach lacrosse (you can see her in the background of the 1st picture if you look closely just above the cracker)

Jonathan's trip to Monticello. It was so nice of Harrison to let Jonathan play with his new chainsaw. Jonathan cut a pretty straight log (don't worry grandma's he wore boots and chainsaw pants)
It was weird, he wouldn't walk with his JMU outfit or his W&L shirt, but he started walking when we put him in a VMI shirt and camo shorts (thanks Uncle Nick).
Action videos of the walking.

With only five more weeks to go til my due date, we have been busy getting ready for Susie Grace's arrival. We have been buying newborn diapers, a double jogging stroller, and gliders big enough to fit both kids in it. With the contractions I have been having lately I can't help but think she might be making an early showing (but hopefully not too early)! I took a picture of Peter unpacking the newborn diapers -wow, I forgot how small they are. We were cracking up at Jonathan's coy attitude about the whole thing. One can hope and dream that he will take the transition of new diapers in his nursery as well as a new baby! With Jonathan's sweet spirit we believe he will be a wonderful and loving big brother!
Jonathan ignoring the intrusion of newborn diapers into his calm single existence.
"Mom, this crazy man doesn't think these are going to fit me..Does he?!"
Our little man reading a book..boy is his world about to be rocked!
Jonathan and Daddy on our new glider! I am in love with it!
Jonathan perfecting his "cheese face"! He does this when we say cheese!
