As you can see Jonathan had a busy busy thanksgiving. My family (the Hamblens) came to Charlottesville for Thanksgiving. Grandma Hamblen cooked more delicious food that we thought was humanly possible. Jonathan enjoyed spending time with Aunt Cindy and Uncle Andy. Jonathan was also able to help pick out our Christmas tree with Grandpa Hamblen. He also enjoyed his first stroll outside, even though mom bundled him up like we lived in the Arctic!

This Thanksgiving we had a lot to be thankful for and Jonathan was all number one on our lists! He is such a blessing and we find ourselves falling more in love with him each day! Its hard to imagine loving something this little so much!
Gibbs and Uncle Andy's new puppy, Moose, ate too much Thanksgiving food as well.

What Jonathan is doing in his spare time.

Since he can't talk yet, he needed another way to express himself. This is the way he choose to express himself and let people know what he has been doing for the past 5 days.

Jonathan would like to give credit to God for creating him, his mom for birthing him, the placenta for keeping him company in the womb, his tech support (Dad) and all his fans on facebook and blogspot.

Enjoy

Aunts and Uncle Come Visit

Over the weekend Jonathan was lucky enough to have Aunt Cindy visit on Saturday and Uncle Richie and Aunt Elizabeth visit on Sunday. We were also fortunate to have the Grandmas here to help educate us and show us the ways of child-rearing.

Still working on feeding, pooping, sleeping and growing. Although, I think he has that pooping thing down.

The last 24 hours.

First full day at home:

Feeding, pooping, sleeping, pooping, feeding, peeing, making funny facial expressions, pooping, sleeping, crying, feeding, sleeping, peeing on wall, feeding, pooping, to pediatrician (looked well, gaining weight appropriately), sleeping, feeding, meeting new cousin (Andy's new puppy, "Moose") sleeping, peeing on carpet, sleeping, pooping, test driving new swing, sleeping.

At this moment, Jonathan is getting mentally prepared for his 10pm feed.

Too bad we took away her ability, Gibbs would have been a great mother.

Jonathan comes home!

We finally got out of the hospital at 2pm today. Kim and Jonathan are doing great. No hiccups during the hospital stay, so we are very thankful. We loved the hospital experience, but we are very relieved to be home, back on our own couch, eating our own food.

I am not sure how he feels about the duck outfit, but it seemed to be a hit in the hospital lobby as the couple was wheeled out of the hospital.

I am not sure Gibbs knows the significance of that thing in Mom's arms, but I am sure she will know soon.

More pictures from the hospital stay.

JONATHAN JACK DEAN!!!

At 8:00am on 11/18/2008 the Dean family went from 2 to 3 with the addition of Jonathan Jack Dean. Weighing in at a solid 6lbs 15ozs and measuring in at 20.3 inches, Jonathan Jack will make a lasting impression on the Dean family. While Jonathan measures in like a champion, the real champion was his mother, Kim. The anesthesiologists made the night a little more interesting when informed her that they couldn't do an epidural because of her low platelet count (clotting cells in blood). But Kim did great, toughed it out and produced Jonathan after 14 hours of labor and 1.5 hours of pushing. She did it all with a great attitude and grace.
Alright, here are the pictures......
